Two-time premiership player Gavin Wanganeen admits he’s worried about the dwindling number of Indigenous players in the AFL.

62 First Nations players are on respective AFL lists in 2025, but only one was drafted last year.

Wanganeen said it was up to the AFL to work out fixing the issue and improve pathways.

“It’s a bit worrying,” he told Jimmy Bartel on Wide World of Sports.

“Maybe it’s something to do with pathways and opportunities, it’s a hard one to put your finger on.”
