AFL legend Ron Barassi dead aged 87

AFL legend Ron Barassi has passed away aged 87 due to complications from a fall.

3AW Mornings host Neil Mitchell joined the broadcast ahead of the semi-final between Port Adelaide and GWS to pay tribute to an icon of the game.

His family have released the following statement:

“After a full and extraordinary life, Ronald Dale Barassi, aged 87, left us today due to complications from a fall.

He died peacefully, surrounded by loving family. We ask for privacy at this time.”
