Andrew Dillon comments on future of under-fire AFL chairman

AFL CEO Andrew Dillon has lauded Richard Goyder as an “incredibly supportive chairman” as pressure mounts on his future.

A report in the Australian Financial Review revealed on Friday that several club chairmans are pushing to oust Goyder as he tries to see another three-year term.

While Dillon conceded Goyder’s future was the matter for the AFL Commission, he had high praise for his tenure as AFL chairman.

“Ultimately it’s for other people to decide,” he said on 3AW Mornings.

“As I sit here, he’s an incredibly supportive chairman and if you look at the scoreboard, he’s done an incredible job.”
