Another ACL injury for Carlton star
Carlton star Sam Docherty has suffered another ACL injury.
Docherty, 25, suffered the injury at training on Monday.
Scans confirmed the ACL rupture in his left knee – the same knee that he injured last year.
The Blues’ co-captain missed the entire 2018 season after rupturing his ACL in the pre-season.
Carlton can still sign a replacement for Docherty by way of the AFL’s new pre-season supplemental selection period.
Blues Head of Football Brad Lloyd told Sportsday the club is exploring its options.
“We had a good look at options through the rookie draft,” Lloyd said.
“(So) we’d already been looking at what’s out there.
“We’ll have a look at that tomorrow and work out how we use our list to its full capacity.”
The Blues will have until March 15 to make a replacement signing.
