‘Baptism of fire’: Matthew Lloyd’s reaction to double Richmond injury blow

New Richmond coach Adem Yze would be dealing with a baptism of fire after copping two injuries to key players in Thursday night’s clash against Carlton, according to Matthew Lloyd.

Dion Prestia went down with a hamstring injury in the first quarter, while Josh Gibcus landed awkwardly after flying for a mark in the second quarter.

“Adem Yze must be thinking ‘what a baptism of fire’,” Matthew Lloyd said on 3AW Football.

“After losing (Dion) Prestia as well, they’ve now lost (Josh) Gibcus and are down to (three on the bench).”
