Ben Rutten to miss Adelaide game due to COVID-19 protocols

Senior Essendon coach Ben Rutten is in isolation and will miss Sunday’s game against Adelaide at Marvel Stadium.

The club took to Twitter to confirm the news on Wednesday afternoon.

Assistant coach Blake Caracella will fill in as senior coach.

Rutten becomes the third senior coach to miss a game due to COVID-19 protocols this season, following Carlton coach Michael Voss and Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir.

Meanwhile, Collingwood midfielder Taylor Adams has tested positive to COVID-19 and will miss the Pies game against West Coast at Marvel Stadium on Saturday.
