Brian Lake arrested following overseas incident

Former AFL star Brian Lake has been detained in Japan.

The three-time premiership player was arrested following an alleged incident at a bar.

3AW Mornings received a tip about the incident on Monday.

The 2013 Norm Smith medallist had been playing football in Osaka, posting on social media he’d been “given the a**” by his wife.

His management agency released the following statement.

“We are still gathering all the information, however, Brian is assisting the authorities with their inquiries.”

“Given the international constraints involved and out of respect to local governance, we won’t be commenting further at this stage.”

“We do ask that the privacy of Brian’s wife and children be respected during this stressful time.”
