Brisbane coach reacts to son-of-gun nominating the Lions

Brisbane coach Chris Fagan admits he hasn’t been able wipe the smile from his face after Will Ashcroft formally agreed to join the club as a father-son selection.

He’s been touted as a potential No.1 draft pick.

Ashcroft is the son of three-time premiership player Marcus.

“He’s a wonderful person and an outstanding footballer,” Fagan told 3AW.

The Lions coach also had some more immediate positive selection news ahead of this week’s clash with Carlton.
