Bruce McAvaney has revealed his favourite Cyril Rioli moment didn’t even involve his own commentary!

The legendary AFL caller paid tribute to Rioli’s career on Wednesday, with the Hawthorn champion one of his all-time favourite players.

Bruce was asked for his most memorable moment.

“It’s not one of mine, to be truthful,” McAvaney said on 3AW Drive.

“It was one from Dennis (Cometti).

“It was when he and Lewis Jetta had that incredible dash down the wing in that 2012 grand final.

“He said – “you’d pay good money in any stadium in the world to see this” – it was just a beautiful line from Dennis.”
