‘Can’t afford to miss a beat’: Lloyd Meek reflects on breakout year and looks ahead to 2025 season

Hawthorn ruckman Lloyd Meek has reflected on his breakout 2024 season, while looking ahead to the 2025 season as expectations rise for the Hawks with multiple prime time games.
Meek was instrumental in the Hawks’ rise up the ladder last year, with the team making a semi-final after losing the first five games of the season.
“My confidence grew each week and I think my teammates’ trust in me kept growing,” Meek said on 3AW’s Wide World of Sports.

The 26-year-old said everyone is back at the club, with everyone returning in fit condition, including new recruits Josh Battle and Tom Barrass.
“You just can’t afford to miss a beat really because the competition is moving so quickly, if you had one three week block off, you’d be in trouble,” he said.
