Carlton assistant coach Jordan Russell has provided a fresh injury update on key forward Charlie Curnow as the 2025 AFL season fast approaches.

Curnow was sent for minor knee surgery earlier in the week, putting doubts on his availabilty for the Blues’ round one clash against Richmond, but Russell and the club are giving him every chance to get up for the match.

“He was in the club this morning and doing some light work,” Russell told Jimmy Bartel on 3AW’s Wide World of Sports.

“We expect him to do everything he can possibly to get up for that clash,” he said.

“It’s one of the best games of the year, and it’s certainly something that he’s aiming to do.”
