Carlton says it had expected Bryce Gibbs to remain a Blue

Carlton says it had expected Bryce Gibbs to remain a Blue.
Gibbs was traded to Adelaide on the final day of AFL trade period, but Blues list manager Stephen Silvagni says the trade only came about in the last day or two.
“We thought Bryce would have still been in a Carlton guernsey,” Silvagni told Sportsday on Thursday evening.
“It wasn’t until yesterday that things escalated, where Bryce indicated he was keen to get home.
“Really, in the last 24-48 hours is when it started to become a reality.”
Carlton recruited Power ruckman Matthew Lobbe for pick 95 on Thursday, but Silvagni would not specify whether or not Port Adelaide will continue to pay part of Lobbe’s salary.
