Caroline Wilson has given significant insight into Adelaide’s controversial pre-season camp that left several players, as well as their family and friends, upset and angry.

While it was reports of players being forced to listen to Richmond’s club song that made news this week, Wilson said it was other matters – far more personal – that had sparked the biggest issues.

She said psychological probing of players about the death of former coach Phil Walsh, and Sam Jacobs about the recent passing of his brother, had created significant angst.

Wilson said the issue came to a head once the players had returned and mentioned things to family and friends.

“It was some of the wives who were outraged by some of the things they heard,” she said on 3AW Football.

“I don’t think people were very happy with the way Sam Jacobs was subjected to that level of trauma so soon after the death of his beloved brother.”
