Cartoonist Mark Knight asked to redraw ‘uber-masculine’ AFL premiership poster

Herald Sun cartoonist Mark Knight was asked to redraw one of his 2026 AFL premiership posters over concerns about “uber-masculinity”.

Knight explained to 3AW Breakfast hosts Ross Stevenson and Russel Howcroft that he was told the original poster did not align with the club’s values.

“They said, ‘Well, it doesn’t fit the direction the club is heading in,’ and they said they’re not celebrating uber-masculinity,” he said.
