Clayton Oliver in the gun after ‘foolish’ and ‘immature’ airport behaviour

Clayton Oliver is facing fresh criticism after a run-in with a football reporter at Melbourne Airport on Thursday.

Oliver – just hours after being told to find another club for 2026 – jetted off on holiday and was doorstopped at the airport by Channel 7’s Mitch Cleary.

He then proceeded to launch an expletive-laden rant in the direction of the respected footy journo.

3AW presenter Shane McInnes said Oliver had to be better, lashing him for his ‘foolish’ conduct.

“That was incredibly foolish and immature behaviour from a player who needs a new club next year,” Shane said on 3AW Afternoons.

“When you’re a professional athlete on more than a million dollars a year, from time to time you have to endure a doorstop.”
