Cohealth Chief Executive Nicole Bartholomeusz says staff are “shaken up” and “angry” after attacks by anti-vaccination protestors in the city.

Two vaccination hubs in Melbourne’s CBD were shut down for at least four days on Thursday, after Cohealth workers administering the COVID-19 vaccine were attacked, abused and spat on.

They also targeted a clinic for the homeless.

Ms Bartholomeusz told Heidi Murphy the attacks are happening to and from vaccination hubs.

“Absolutely appalling behaviour that we just do not expect to see,” she told Heidi Murphy on 3AW Drive.

“This is a time when we should be giving gratitude to health care workers for the amazing work that they’re doing to save peoples live, to protect the community, you just don’t expect to receive that abuse.”

The clinics that have been shut as a result of the attacks were administering around 200 jabs per day.
