Council explains why man had travel permit for bushfire prep rejected
A regional council that rejected an application for a man to come and clean-up his holiday house in preparation for bushfire season says he’ll be able to attend his property soon.
Ali Wastie, Bass Coast Shire CEO, said there was a key difference this time around.
“We are not in bushfire season right now,” she said.
“I completely appreciate and empathise with our wonderful people who have holiday homes in Bass Coast and completely understand their frustration this time around.”
She said it should only be a matter of weeks before he could travel to the property under Victoria’s easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
