Devils CEO provides major update on stadium construction timeline

Tasmania Devils CEO Brendon Gale admits construction on the new $1.13 billion stadium in Hobart isn’t likely to start for another year.

The stadium – a key pillar of the AFL’s 19th license – will now be built after officially passing through both houses of Tasmania’s parliament late on Thursday evening.

Gale told Jacqui Felgate that the Devils are likely to use existing stadia for their first two seasons in the AFL.

“It probably looks as if the stadium will be online for the 2030 season,” he said on 3AW.
