‘Diabolical’ Why Leigh Matthews is against public player payments

Leigh Matthews has advocated against the idea of AFL player payments being made public.

Lethal sees the attention that St Kilda’s top-earning stars are earning as a key example of how a player can be piled on due to their salary.

“If you’re talking mental health issues, this is diabolical, I reckon for Wanganeen-Milera and De Koning,” Matthews said on 3AW Football.

“I would’ve thought the St Kilda case study would say don’t make them public.”
