Docklands is in ‘dire straits’ and needs urgent attention, according to the president of the Docklands Chamber of Commerce.

It comes on the back of news the Melbourne Star observation wheel will be shutting permanently.

She said the current situation wasn’t sustainable.

“It needs to re-emerge as a destination,” Ms Maxwell said.

“We are in dire straits down there.”
