‘Direct lying’: Swans called out over Chloe Molloy injury saga

AFL Weekly co-host Sarah Burt has called out the Sydney Swans for “lying” to media over the extent of Chloe Molloy’s injury.

The 25-year-old ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament prior to their clash against St Kilda, but kept it hidden as she didn’t want to distract her teammates.

However, reports started to emerge of the injury and when questioned the Swans maintained the injury was just ‘knee soreness’.

“I have an issue with the direct lying, that’s what bothers me,” Sarah said on the AFLW Weekly .

“I do think there’s a difference between keeping something to yourselves, for the good of the team, and actively lying to the media.”
