‘Disaster’: Economist voices strong concerns on the AFL and the Tasmanian stadium

CEO of Lateral Economics, Dr Nicholas Gruen, had some strong views to get across on 3AW in regards to the AFL and the new stadium in Tasmania.

AFL club presidents are meeting today, with the stadium set to be a big talking point, and the economist thinks the league is doing itself a “huge amount of self harm”.

“As an economic proposition this is a disaster,” Dr Gruen told Heidi Murphy on 3AW Mornings.

“We still don’t have a guarantee on a stadium, so as far as I’m concerned, we still don’t have a guarantee on a team,” McClure told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.
