Disgraceful and insipid: Collingwood great doesn’t hold back on Pies start to season
Collingwood legend Tony Shaw says his former club’s midfield skills in 2024 have been “disgraceful”, while labelling their current forward line setup “insipid”.
His comments come after the premiers opened their 2024 campaign with two straight heavy defeats, with a crunch clash against St Kilda to come at the MCG next Thursday.
While maintaining his faith in Craig McRae’s side to turn their early-season form around, he didn’t hold back in his assessment of their premiership defence so far.

“In the few two weeks they’ve been insipid in their forward line,” he told 3AW Football.
“The ball has been flying out of that area. Their skills in midfield were also disgraceful, I’ve never seen it to that level.”
