‘Doesn’t have the impact’: Tony Shaw’s big query about Essendon recruit

Tony Shaw has called on Essendon to look at Jade Gresham as a more consistent midfielder as his form wavers as a forward.

The Dons small forward was recalled to the senior side amid the club’s injury crisis, remaining contracted to the side until at least the end of 2026.

Gresham’s performance on Thursday night prompted Shawry to wonder whether a positional change was needed, with Gresham moving on-ball after half time.

“I don’t know what the Bombers are going to do with Jade Gresham,” he said on 3AW Football.

“As a small forward, he just doesn’t have an impact like he used to have as the Saints.”
