Michael Christian explains why Richard Douglas was offered one week
Richard Douglas has been suspended for a week.
The Crow midfielder bumped Zach Merrett on Friday night, with the gun Bomber not returning to the game with concussion.
Douglas can accept a one-game suspension for engaging in rough conduct.
After speaking to umpire Rob O’Gorman, who laid the report, and considering the medical report from Essendon, Match Review Officer Michael Christian assessed the incident as careless conduct with medium impact to the head.
Christian told 3AW Football replays showed the bump did make contact with Merrett’s head.
