Embarrassing blunder to prevent Bulldog from making AFL return

Western Bulldogs forward Jack Redpath won’t be making his AFL return this week.

And it’s not the Bulldogs’ decision.

The AFL has ruled him ineligible to play at any level this weekend.

Redpath, who was suspended for the last two AFL games of the 2017 season and the opening round of the 2018 season, played in last Sunday’s VFL practice game when he wasn’t allowed.

He’s subsequently been banned from any action this weekend.

The AFL has acknowledged the breach was inadvertent.
