Essendon fans would be expecting their side to play finals in 2024, according to club legend Matthew Lloyd.

His comments come on the back of an off-season where they added veteran ruckman Todd Goldstein, winger Xavier Duursma and small forward Jade Gresham, as well as top 10 draft pick Nate Caddy.

He told Sam McClure on Wide World of Sports Bombers supporters would “nearly tear Windy Hill down” if they missed finals again, having not won a match in September since 2004.
