Essendon ‘rocketing into prominence’ in race to secure key Sun

Essendon has “rocketed into prominence” in the race to lure a highly-rated Gold Coast midfielder.

Multiple Victorian clubs are currently chasing the signature of under-contract Sam Flanders, who is currently exploring his options ahead of the trade period beginning on Monday.

And Channel 7 reporter Xander McGuire said that while St Kilda is also well in the frame to sign the midfielder, Essendon was also circling.

“The Bombers have rocketed into prominence (in the race to secure Sam Flanders),” he said on 3AW Afternoons.
