The 77-year-old victim of a frightening home invasion in Melbourne’s south-east yesterday has told Neil Mitchell how she is ‘terrified’ to go out at night.
3AW Mornings revealed the news yesterday a 77-year-old woman was woken by a noise and fled her own home Carlingford Street, Caulfield on Wednesday night.
Judy contacted Neil this morning to share her harrowing experience.
“I’m terrified,” she said.
“I slept with the neighbour last night.”
Judy said she would be sleeping with a hammer under her bed from now on.
“It’s under the bed, it’s between the mattress and the next time somebody comes, one of us won’t get out,” Judy replied
“Would you really do that?” Neil asked.
“Absolutely,” she replied.
“I’m very tough I must say, but it’s frightening.
“I’m terrified to go out at night.”

Judy said the offenders broke through a wrought iron security door, the sound woke her up and gave her time to run out the back door and call police.
Incredibly, for her terrifying exchange, the man only made off with a small amount of cash.
“All that for $30,” she said.
