‘Feel that pain’: Why Nick Daicos forced himself to watch Grand Final

Nick Daicos admits he watched Saturday’s Grand Final to ‘feel that pain’ of missing out 12 months on from lifting football’s biggest prize.

Daicos was part of Collingwood’s premiership-winning team in 2023, but his side missed out on finals altogether this season.

Speaking on 3AW Football ahead of the Grand Final on Saturday, Daicos admits watching the game from the stands would drive him and his teammates before the new campaign begins.

“What we experienced last year was unbelievable,” he said on 3AW Football.

“I’m so driven, it is going to suck to watch (Grand Final day). You need to bring yourself to do it, you need to feel that pain and make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
