Footy fans left frustrated by changes to membership

Footy fans have been left frustrated after learning they won’t be receiving a membership card to enter AFL games this season, as some clubs move to digital tickets.

Western Bulldogs fan Doug, 78, rang Tom Elliott on Friday after learning he wouldn’t be getting a physical membership.

He said he’d been told he’d need to use a smartphone to access tickets and get into the ground this year.

“My sister is 84 and has been to every game with me, she can’t do any of that stuff,” Doug said.

Doug’s call set the 3AW talkback line alight, with several other fans from other clubs saying they’d been told similar.
