Fremantle hoping to re-sign Harley Bennell

Fremantle hopes to re-sign Harley Bennell.

Bennell, 25, has played just two games since crossing to Fremantle from the Gold Coast at the end of 2015.

The injury-plagued midfielder is out of contract at the end of this season, and the Dockers’ CEO Steve Rosich tells 3AW Football the club is hoping he will extend his contract.

“It’s certainly the hope,” Rosich said.

“We’ll consider that as the season evolves.

“If we do, (it’s because) he’s continuing to apply himself, train hard, work hard, and he’s back playing AFL footy.”
