FULL TIME
Brisbane has opened its 2018 account with a huge win over the Hawks.
Dayne Beams dominated the midfield and Eric Hipwood booted four goals as the Lions ran away to a 56-point win.
Lingy said it was the Lions’ spread of goal-scorers, particularly from midfield, that helped forwards like Hipwood out.

HALF TIME
Brisbane holds something of a surprise 11-point lead at the main break.
But Matthew Richardson said they’ve allowed Hawthorn too many inside 50s.
“If the Hawks get another 30 in the second half, they’ll win,” Richo said.
Tony: “Smith’s kicked that from 75m!”
Lingy: “…I’m not sure I’d buy real estate from you, Tone.”

THE BUILD-UP
Luke Hodge takes on the side he thrice captained to a premiership as Brisbane host Hawthorn on Sunday.
The Hawks have made six changes for this clash, including bringing in debutant Mitch Lewis, while the Lions are unchanged.
Can Hodge’s inside knowledge help the Lions to their maiden win of 2018?
Or will the Hawks maintain their assault on the Top 4?
