Robbie Gray kicked three for the Power, while Charlie Curnow (nine marks, four goals) starred at the other end.

Simpson was outstanding in his milestone match, racking up 37 disposals in his usual role across half back.

Matthew Lloyd said he was the best afield.

BRADLEY HAILS SIMPSON

Kade Simpson has become the fifth Blue to play 300 games.

One of the first four, Craig Bradley, told 3AW Football he’s happy to be at the MCG to support him.

“Simmo’s been such a wonderful servant, and such a courageous player,” Bradley said before the game.

“Obviously, he’s battled through some hard times.

“It’s a real credit to him to have played so well in such a long span of time.”

THE BUILD-UP

Despite Carlton’s poor run in the last few seasons, they actually have a reasonable record against the Power.

The Blues have won two of their past three against Port, and may sniff another upset to celebrate Kade Simpson’s 300th game.

But the Power have a Top 4 spot on their mind.

A win today would keep Port right in the hunt for a double chance.

Can the Blues do it for Simmo? Or will Port power back into the Top 4?
