FULL TIME

Collingwood has demolished North Melbourne by 66 points at the MCG.

The Pies booted nine of the first 11 goals to have the result wrapped up before half time.

It’s a mighty blow to North’s finals hopes, with the Kangaroos shedding six percentage points on the day.

The Roos could be a game and more than 10 per cent outside the eight if Geelong beats Melbourne.

Jimmy Bartel said Scott Pendlebury was the best player on the ground.

“He’s a special player to watch,” Jimmy said.

“He was the cleanest across four quarters today.

“He set the game up. He was involved in everything.”

=====

HALF TIME

Collingwood has opened up a 45-point lead at the main break.

Brody Mihocek booted three in the opening quarter to set the tone.

Jimmy Bartel said the Pies have controlled the pace of the game.

=====

LATE CHANGE

Collingwood has made a late change just before the bounce.

Darcy Moore (hamstring) is out, with Josh Daicos coming in.

North is unchanged today.

=====

THE BUILD-UP

North sits agonisingly close to the top eight, outside by just five per cent.

But to make the leap, they’ll have to get past the rampaging Pies.

Collingwood will be stung by last week’s defeat to West Coast, and will be determined to avoid successive losses.
