FULL TIME

Collingwood is playing finals in 2018.

But beyond just locking themselves into the eight with victory over the Power, the Pies also kept their Top 4 chances alive.

The Pies jumped to third on the ladder, pending the rest of the round’s results.

Port slips to ninth place and will need to beat Essendon in Round 23 and have other results to go their way if they are to play finals in 2018.

COLL: 17.13 (115)

PORT:  10.4 (64)

Rejuvenated Magpie Chris Mayne spoke to 3AW in the rooms.

Mayne said he’s worked hard to turn things around after a frustrating season.

He also said he takes no joy from seeing his old side get thrashed across town.

The Dockers were obliterated by Geelong while the Pies were sealing their spot in September, but Mayne said he doesn’t wish his old side any misfortune.

“I still have great mates there,” he said.

HALF TIME

Collingwood leads by 17 points at the main break.

The Magpies have kicked a goal in the final minute of both quarters so far.

Brody Mihocek and Tom Phillips both have two goals for the Pies.

THE BUILD-UP

Collingwood have won just two of their last five and have relinquished their spot in the top four.

The Power are teetering on the edge of the eight, and any slip-up could see them fall out.

There couldn’t be much more on the line at the MCG today!
