FULL TIME

The Magpies have beaten the old enemy by 16 points.

It was a fitting result for champion midfielder Steele Sidebottom’s 200th game.

Sidebottom spoke to 3AW after the game.

“I don’t know if I’ve been this happy in a long time,” he said.

“For the boys to be able to fight back like we did is something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”

Then Steele’s mum Linda got on the line!

She explained how her son ended up with the title of 2010 Name of the Year.

JOE DANIHER INJURY UPDATE

Injured Bomber star Joe Daniher spoke to 3AW before the game.

He said his return date from a groin injury is no closer to being finalised.

“I’m really happy with the progress and I’m looking forward to getting out there as quick as possible,” he said.

“It is going to be a week-to-week process.”

Daniher said he’s “ticked some boxes” in the last few weeks.

LINGY’S BIG CALL

Cameron Ling has made a big call about Magpie defender Lynden Dunn.

Dunn’s season is over after he suffered an ACL injury last weekend.

Lingy said Dunn has surprised him with his rapid improvement at Collingwood, to the point where he might be a bigger loss than injured star midfielder Adam Treloar.

“I almost can’t believe I’m saying it,” Lingy said.

“After his move from Melbourne, I thought Dunn was… well, done.

“Maybe (he’d be there for) one year just to buy a bit of time before Collingwood worked out who their key defenders were going to be.

“He’s been wonderful.”
