FULL TIME

After a slow, sluggish start, North Melbourne win 13.17.95 to St Kilda’s 5.13.43.

St Kilda failed to put in a fight after half time, kicking only three goals in the second half to North Melbourne’s 11.

Ben Brown was a standout with six goals, dominating his opponent Nathan Brown.

Tony Shaw said St Kilda were disappointing.

“To come out and show the lack of spirit, and lack of intensity in that first quarter.

They hung in there, but to come out at half time like that…that’s an indictment on the group.”

HALF TIME WRAP

Not the most exciting game of footy on hand at Etihad Stadium.

Only four goals scored for the game so far, with both teams level on 2.10.22.

Jimmy Webster leads the disposals with 19, with Jack Steven not far behind on 16.

For North Melbourne, Billy Hartung has been one of the few players willing to take the game on.

“It’s a really hard game to know what to say – both teams have been as bad as each other with regards to their ball use,” Matthew Lloyd said.

THE BUILD-UP

North Melbourne hosts St Kilda for the second ever Good Friday match.

St Kilda had the upper hand over North Melbourne in both their meetings of 2017.

Midfielder Jack Steven was a standout in St Kilda’s 25-point victory over the Brisbane Lions last week with 34 disposals and two goals.

While North Melbourne will be looking to bounce back after losing to Gold Coast in torrential rain.

Will their six-day turn around and last week’s heavy conditions affect them this afternoon?
