St Kilda has kicked off season 2018 with a win.
The Saints didn’t have it all their own way – indeed, Brisbane hit the front in the third term – but were able to shake the Lions off in the final term.
Josh Bruce and Jade Gresham booted three goals for the Saints, while Jack Steven was influential through midfield.

The Lions have further concerns, with Daniel Rich (ankle) iced up during the second quarter.

THE BUILD-UP
Round 1 is in full swing, with St Kilda and Brisbane getting their first taste of AFL action in 2018.
Four-time premiership champion Luke Hodge will get his first run in Lion colours as the 2017 wooden spooners look to climb back up the ladder.
Hodge told 3AW Football he’s not in Brisbane for a holiday.
“I want to play all 22 games,” he said.
