FULL TIME

The Eagles have piled the pressure on the Bulldogs with a crushing 51-point win on Easter Sunday.

Cameron Ling said the Bulldogs’ effort was as poor as St Kilda’s on Good Friday.

“That first half was as bad as I’ve seen for a while,” Lingy said.

Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge took aim at the media during the week, claiming some things written were “fiction” rather than fact.

Tim Lane responded during the third quarter.

“What is fact is they lost by 82 points last week… and it could easily be 82 again,” Tim said.

“They are playing spiritless football.”

HALF TIME

The Eagles are cruising, leading by 39 points at the main change.

Cameron Ling and Matthew Richardson identified Jason Johannisen, Luke Dahlhaus, and Caleb Daniel as three players who particularly need to lift in the second half.

West Coast coach Adam Simpson is not in the box today. He has rushed back to Perth to be with his sick daughter.

Forwards coach Jaymie Graham will coach the side in his absence.

Midfield coach Sam Mitchell said the coaching team has tried to keep things as smooth as possible for the playing group.

“We wanted to keep the bench as stable as we could,” he said.

“The only difference is one of our analysts, Tyler King, will be taking over the forward line work.”

THE BUILD-UP

The Bulldogs misfired badly in their season opener against GWS last week, and will be out to prove it was a one-off.

The Eagles also lost, but were far more competitive in their defeat to Sydney.

Both sides will be fired up for four points on Sunday, so this contest should be tough and engaging.
