Gary Rohan clears up the “mixed messages” around his departure from Sydney

Geelong recruit Gary Rohan has cleared up the reason behind his trade request.

Sportsday host Gerard Healy said there had been “mixed messages” around Rohan’s trade from the Swans, with reports that Rohan both wanted to return to Geelong and wanted to stay at the Swans.

Rohan told Gerard the former is more true.

“I was pretty keen to leave,” Rohan said on Wednesday.

“I was in a bit of a flat spot for the last couple of years. I thought new scenery might help me out.

“To the Swans’ credit, they were pretty happy to move me on as well!”

Rohan said he’s expecting to play at half forward as a Cat.
