Geelong champion Joel Selwood joins 3AW Football

3AW is excited to announce Geelong legend and premiership captain Joel Selwood will join its all-star commentary team for the 2025 AFL season.

Selwood, who is a four-time premiership player and six-time All-Australian, has one of the most respected CVs in football and is poised to add a modern player’s perspective to 3AW’s coverage this season.

The Geelong champion moved into the media after retiring at the end of the 2022 season, working across a range of outlets before joining 3AW ahead of Round 1.

3AW Station Manager Stephen Beers said Selwood will bring an unparalleled insight into the game.

“Joel Selwood is one of modern football’s most respected characters,” he said.

“We are delighted to welcome him to football’s number one call team, where he’ll join some of the most iconic voices in the game.”

Fittingly, Selwood’s first game in the 3AW commentary box will be at GMHBA Stadium on March 15 – where he has a stand named after him – as his old side Geelong takes on Fremantle in Round 1.

He will feature in expert commentary on both Thursday nights and Saturday afternoons this season, joining some of the most respected and revered voices in the game on 3AW Football.
