Geelong releases statement on wantaway midfielder Tim Kelly
Tim Kelly wants a trade back home.
Geelong has confirmed Kelly, who burst onto the scene this year, wants to move back to Western Australia.
Kelly finished second in the Cats best and fairest.
Geelong released a statement on Friday, saying it would explore it’s options for the contracted midfielder.
The Cats say they’re open to dealing with both West Coast and Fremantle and will then determine whether or not they club believe a trade is viable for the club.
It’s understood Kelly has a preference for joining the Eagles.
GEELONG’S STATEMENT
Tim Kelly has asked that the club explore the possibility of trading him to his home state, Western Australia.
As is well known, Tim is under contract to the Cats for the 2019 season, and it is highly likely he will remain with the club.
However out of respect for Tim, we will listen to what Fremantle and West Coast are prepared to offer and determine whether or not we believe it is a viable trade for our club.
