‘Giant mistake’: Sam McClure urges Carlton not to trade Sam Walsh

Carlton’s subpar first half of the of the season has sparked many discussions in relation to their list and the potential trading of their A-graders to free up cap space to rejuvenate their list.

On 3AW Football, Sam McClure has urged the Blues to keep star midfielder Sam Walsh, despite interest from rival clubs such as Geelong and Hawthorn.

“If Carlton were to trade Sam Walsh, I think it could be one of the all-time poor decisions,” McClure said on 3AW Football.

“I think trading someone of his calibre who is as loved as his teammates and supporters as he is, would be a giant mistake.”
