Gillon McLachlan reveals ungodly hour the AFL’s new broadcast deal was signed

Outgoing AFL boss Gillon McLachlan has revealed the league’s latest broadcast deal was signed on Collins Street in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

“I think we signed it about 5.15 (am), standing in the cold on Collins Street,” the league boss told Neil Mitchell.

“Then we tried to find a souvlaki and couldn’t find anything that was open and that was about it.”
