Tom Elliott is urging the government to “step in” and implement mandatory sentencing for crimes such as aggravated burglaries and carjacking.

His comments come after a 24-year-old male was charged with several alleged carjackings in Frankston on Thursday.

The 3AW Mornings host said the community was fed up with criminals escaping jail time.
