GWS CEO Dave Matthews on the Swans blocking GWS-SCG games

Giants boss Dave Matthews has revealed a planned clash between Richmond and GWSc was meant to take place at the SCG.

The Ginats would’ve been the away team, but the Swans, the home team, blocked the move.

” What we wanted to do was get an away game at the SCG. We were working with Richmond,” Matthews said on 3AW Football.

“For the growth of the game, I would’ve loved it to come to Sydney, but the anchor tenant is the Swans, and they control the content.”
