GWS CEO Dave Matthews dismisses ‘dramatic’ criticism of the club

GWS’ CEO has rejected the suggestion the club is in “freefall”.

AFL great Matthew Lloyd wrote as much in the Herald Sun, saying GWS is a real chance of missing the finals in 2018.

But CEO Dave Matthews told 3AW Football that’s a “dramatic” word.

“Four wins and a draw put us just outside the eight,” Matthew said ahead of the Giants’ clash with North Melbourne.

“We’re very optimistic about the rest of the year.

“We have faced some challenges but I wouldn’t agree with those statements.”
