GWS chairman responds to calls for SCG switch-up

GWS chairman Tony Shepherd has revealed the Giants are considering playing blockbuster matches against “big” Melbourne clubs at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Shepherd openly declared his conflict – he’s also chairman of Venues NSW, which runs the SCG – but said the club was trying to address its issue with struggling crowds, which he admits are “a long way off the pace” this year.

“That’s a possibility,” he said.

“We are looking at all of those sorts of things.”
