GWS skipper hopes to speak with Josh Kelly about his future

GWS co-captain Callan Ward says he hopes to speak with Josh Kelly about his playing future.

The young Giants midfielder is yet to re-sign and is the target of several Victorian clubs, with St Kilda said to be leading the charge.

Kelly said on Wednesday he was only worrying about playing football, for now.

Ward said it hadn’t been raised at the club.

“We haven’t spoken about it,” Ward told 3Aw.

“I’m hoping I will, at some stage.

“At the moment, I think he’s just concentrating on playing footy – I think he said so in his press conference.

“I think he all understands we all love having him around and we obviously think he’s a terrific player for us and is important and is a very popular player among our playing group, as well.”
